Sally Greenlee

I would like to welcome you to Pioneer Park Welcome Letter, a Presidential Blue Ribbon School since 1996. School's Motto and Mission Statement: "YOUR CHILD, OUR SCHOOL, THEIR FUTURE"

Our mission and commitment at Pioneer Park Elementary School is to encourage and challenge children to better themselves academically, socially, and creatively in a physically and emotional safe environment.

Parent Involvement

At Pioneer Park we truly believe in building bridges with parents and the community.  Everyone is encouraged to Join PTA and support their many activities for the welfare of our students.  We encourage you, as parent/guardians, to become active in our Booster Club and support their programs.  For all interested boys and girls there are several levels of scouting available here at school.  The staff welcomes parent involvement in classroom activities.  Remember parent involvement is a chance for you to improve your child's opportunities to be successful in school.  Pioneer Park's volunteers make our school a great place to be a kid.

We look forward to meeting you.

Attention Parents:

bully

Please review the Bullying and Harassment policy of Lawton Public Schools with your child.

It is the policy of this school district that harassment, intimidation, and bullying of students by other students, personnel, or the public will not be tolerated. This policy is in effect while the students are on school grounds, in school transportation, or attending school-sponsored activities, and while away from school grounds if the misconduct directly affects the good order, efficient management, and welfare of the school district.  Harassment is intimidation by threats of or actual physical violence; the creation by whatever means of a climate of hostility or intimidation; or the use of language, conduct, or symbols in such manner as to be commonly understand to convey hatred, contempt, or prejudice or to have the effect of insulting or stigmatizing an individual. Harassment includes but is not limited to harassment on the basis of race, sex, creed, color, national origin, religion, marital status, or disability.

"Bullying is the exploitation of a less powerful person by taking unfair advantage, repeated over time, and having a negative effect on the victim."

Unfortunately several students are not practicing self discipline and are speaking before they think.  It is very unfortunate when a student has to be suspended from school for bullying but we must enforce LPS policy.   The same policy applies to all LPS students so please take a few minutes and discuss this with your child.

Summer Feeding Program

Feeding sites will operate at Crosby Park, Geronimo Road, Pat henry, Ridgecrest, B.C. Swinney and Wilson Elementary schools, along with Central Middle School and the Frederick Douglass Professional Development and Special Services Center.  Most sites will serve both breakfast and lunch on weekdays from June 4th through July 20th. Satellite feeding sites will be set up at several other locations around Lawton, including the Boys and Girls Club, YMCA and at Elmer Thomas Park.
