Friday Jan 19th Academic & Attendance Awards Assembly Starts at 9:10am
Guest, please remember you must stop in the office for a visitors pass and if your Drivers License is not already in our system, please come early so we can get you added. Go Knights!

Hugh Bish staff, students, parents, and community met the “principal challenge” of earning $500.00 in just four days of our LPS Foundation’s “Change for Change” donation drive. Your giving hearts blew me away, and I am so proud of everyone’s spirit of giving. These donations come right back into the schools by providing grants for teachers to purchase the resources to enhance their teaching. In the last year, this foundation has purchased ukuleles and art supplies for our specials teachers and reading materials for our kindergarten. Way to go, Knights.

Last Friday, the principal, Sherry Havron, had the honor of hosting the first LPS “Breakfast with the principal” The selected students were the 5th grade Noble Knights, a group who apply for jobs and duties throughout the school. Our cafeteria manager, Teresa Whitley, dressed in true chef fashion and served a hot breakfast to us as we had time to discuss etiquette and leadership. We had such a good time! A huge thank you to the Hugh Bish kitchen staff who helped prepare the breakfast (Mrs. Wanda McBride and Mrs. Laura Barnes), and to the Child Nutrition staff who attended.

Parents and students, here is a wonderful opportunity to read over the break for free! Capstone has provided access to their eBooks until January 15, 2018. On your computer, tablet and some phones go to www.MyCapstoneLibrary.com. User name: merry

THANK YOU SONIC ON CACHE ROAD
Hugh Bish happily accepts a check from Mr. Brewer, part owner of the Sonic on Cache Road, for $240.00. This donation is the result of Hugh Bish patrons going to Sonic on our designated night and making purchases so a percentage of the proceeds would go to our school. Thank you patrons and Sonic!

Thank you so much to Fire Department, Station #7! Kindergarten and First Grade enjoyed learning all about Fire Safety and getting to check out the fire truck. We appreciate you coming out today. Your friends at Hugh Bish: Mrs. Kamaunu, Ms. Espinoza, Mrs. Hicks, Ms. Durgin, Ms. Pugh and of course KINDERGARTEN and FIRST GRADE!

Special Sight Word: orange
Kindergarten’s color of the week is orange. We have been practicing all week how to read and write the color word, and identify the color. We’ve asked all our school friends K-5th, teachers, and staff to help us out by wearing the color orange with us on Friday, to help us see it and remember it. Reminder: Friday’s are free dress! THANK YOU, Kindergarten Teachers & Students!
