Mrs. Ortner's Kindergarten Class

A little about myself.......................

I was born and raised in Red Lodge, Montana.  Red Lodge is a small town located at the base of the Beartooth Mountains and one of the gateways to Yellowstone National Park.  I graduated from Eastern Montana College in Billings in 1984 with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a math minor.  I am certified in Elementarty Education and Early Childhood Education.  This will be my fifth year of teaching Kindergarten at Pioneer Park.  I love to spend time with my family, watch HGTV and the Food Network, read, and listen to music---anything from the 70's!

Tim and I were married in 1984.  After we had our first child, he decided to go back into the Army.  We came to Lawton/Ft. Sill in May 1999.  He retired in 2001 and works on Ft. Sill as a Supervisory Training Instructor for the Training Support Center.  He is also on the Retiree Council as the Color Guard Coordinator.  He loves spending time with his kids, working in the yard, “tinkering” in his shop, watching college football, and riding his Harley.

Our daughter Katy and her husband James just celebrated their 1st anniversary on July 24!  Katy is a graduate of OU with a degree in Communications.  She works for Dr. Miracle, DDS.  James has his Associates Degree from OCCC.  He is a lead classroom teacher with Crossroads Youth and Family Services Head Start program.  They are both huge Sooner and Spurs fans.  They enjoy travelling.

Michael is 21 and a junior at Cameron majoring in Health.  He is in the Army National Guard.  He is in the ROTC program and going active duty when he graduates.  He spent a month this summer at Ft. Lewis for LDAC training for ROTC.  Michael loves music, movies, and football.

Mary is 18 years old and a recent 2011 graduate of MacArthur High School.  She is currently working at Crockett’s Smokehouse.  She is taking time off from school to decide what the future may have in store for herJ  She loves children, visiting with the elderly, and animals.  She enjoys spending time with her friends and having fun.

Matt is 15 and a sophomore at MacArthur High School.  He loves sports, history, music and the theater.  Last year he earned his three year medal in both the All-Region Choir and the All-State Choir.  He has been in three performances at the Lawton Community Theater.  He was “Samuel” for the Summer 2009 production of the Pirates of Penzance, Jr.  He was the “coachman” and in the choir for the Spring 2010 production of Cinderella.  This summer he played "Jafar" in Aladdin, Jr.

Dozer is the baby of our family.  She will be three years old in November.  She is a black and tan Dachshund.  She is completely spoiled rotten by every member of the family.
