Mrs. Westbrook's First Grade |
Hi! My name is Nan Westbrook. I grew up in Mississippi, but I have spent most of my life here in the Lawton/Fort Sill area. My husband, John, is retired from the military. During our military life we lived in Germany, West Point, New York, and Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. As for now, we have made Lawton our home. John continues to work on Fort Sill.
I have taught seventeen years in Lawton Public Schools and eight years in the DODDS School system in New York and in Germany.
I have two children. Wesley is 24 years old and Abby is 19 years old. They both attend the University of Oklahoma. I have a dog named Jake and two cats named Rodney and Rosie.
I consider myself to be blessed to be a classroom teacher. I enjoy working with children. They keep me young and challenged. I believe it is so important for parents and teachers to work together to help make a child feel successful in school.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my children, eating out, watching late night movies, and of course, shopping. I love to read children’s books, M&M’s, flowers and summer time!
